Battle of Wuzhang Plains
五丈原之战
In 234 Zhuge Liang led his last northern campaign and faced Sima Yi around Wuzhang Plains. Sima Yi, as in earlier campaigns, avoided a decisive battle and waited for conditions to favor Wei. Zhuge Liang died during the campaign and the armies withdrew, ending that confrontation; later praise and temple worship came after his death. The Jin Shu reports that after Zhuge Liang died, Sima Yi called him an extraordinary talent.
